To Horton's House Parents

Day care is a great way to socialize and exercise your dog. Regular visits help build confidence, especially for shy dogs.

While your pet is at our home, we provide various toys and equipment for all ages and sizes to keep their minds stimulated such as ramps, bungee toys, weave poles, hoops, tunnels, wading pool, and games suited for individual personalities and specific breeds.

We also make sure all dogs take time to rest during the day and get some individualized couch cuddling and personal attention.

Enrichment is anything that engages your dog's senses and makes them use their brain. Horton's House offers a variety of enrichment activities, which rotate depending on the week, to add a bit more fun and excitement to your pet's day.

Some examples of our activities are:

• Long walks on our 54 acres
• Snuffle mats to sniff out treats 
• Puzzle bowls
• Agility exercises 
• Bubbles to chase 
• And much more

Horton's Training Academy is a 7-10 day experience where your dog will engage in daily training activities. This is a great opportunity to get your pet better acquainted with obedience, manners, and socialization.

Our training program has three levels and also offers enrichment activities & kennel practice. Training can be added on to your dog's stay depending on the type of reservation. Please inquire for more information.

Please note that the training academy is just a tool for your dog and will not be truly effective unless the work continues once they go home.

Going on a trip or out of town becomes a lot easier when you know your pet is going to be happy and well-cared for while you’re away.

We make great efforts to make your pet feel loved and safe in our home. We take in a limited number of pets so that everyone gets individualized and personal attention. The dogs are with us inside and out and they can sleep on comfy couches or cozy dog beds.

This open home environment is best suited for dogs who are well-socialized and comfortable around other dogs and cats.

Horton's House is currently in the process of building out our doggie bathing area and can only offer limited pet grooming services for the time being.

Current grooming services include:

• Nail trimming
• Ear cleaning
• Brush outs
